Os mortos estão retornando à vida e atacando os vivos. Quatro sobreviventes do ataque escondem-se em um shopping abandonado e planejam contra-atacar. No entanto, milhares de mortos-vivos descobrem o esconderijo e iniciam um novo massacre, contaminando alguns sobreviventes que retornam como zumbis e somam-se ao exército de abomináveis criaturas. Pela primeira vez disponível em versão estendida com 15 minutos de imagens inéditas e remasterizada por processo digital.

CURIOSIDADES
- Existem três versões conhecidas para este filme: a versão altamente censurada, com quase todo o "gore" retirado (que dura 126 minutos), a versão do diretor Romero, totalmente "uncut" (140 minutos), e a versão européia, montada pelo produtor e cineasta Dario Argento, que tem 117 minutos (mantendo boa parte da violência, mas retirando várias cenas consideradas "longas" pelo italiano, aquelas que mostravam o dia-a-dia dos heróis no interior do shopping-center).

- A versão de Dario Argento foi lançada na Europa com o nome "Zombi". O diretor italiano Lucio Fulci gostou tanto que realizou sua seqüência pirata, "Zombi 2", que no restante do mundo ficaria conhecida como "Zombie"

- A versão lançada no Brasil em VHS na metade dos anos 90 é uma das raras edições "uncut" de Romero.

- George A. Romero e sua esposa aparecem rapidamente no início, como técnicos da emissora de TV que transmite relatórios de emergência.

- Além de fazer uma participação como motoqueiro, o maquiador Tom Savini também aparece como o zumbi que quebra a janela do caminhão e é alvejado na cabeça por um tiro de Roger e como outro zumbi que é atropelado por um caminhão e lançado longe.

- No filme, Stephen é apelidado "flying boy" ("garoto voador") pelos colegas, já que é piloto de helicóptero. No Brasil, misteriosamente, o apelido mudou para "Tarzan"!!!

- Em várias cenas do filme, uma música toca no interior do shopping center sitiado. Em entrevistas na época, o diretor Romero declarou que aquilo não foi intencional: todos os dias, às seis da manhã, a música começava a tocar por conta e ninguém sabia como desligar.

- Dario Argento ajudou a escrever o roteiro, mas não ganhou crédito, apenas como produtor.

- Na cena em que Peter é atacado por duas crianças-zumbi, os monstros foram interpretados pelos sobrinhos de Savini, Donna e Mike.

- Joe Pilato, que interpretou o vilão Capitão Rhodes em DIA DOS MORTOS, aparece rapidamente como um policial.

- Savini chamou o amigo Jim Krut, que tinha a cabeça pequena, para interpretar o zumbi que tem o topo de sua cabeça arrancado pelas hélices de um helicóptero. Assim, pôde "alargar" a cabeça de Krut com espuma e látex.

- A cena em que os heróis entram em uma loja de armas não foi feita no mesmo shopping center alugado para a produção, mas sim numa loja em Pittsburgh.

- Todos os figurantes que interpretaram zumbis ganharam 20 dólares e uma camiseta com o título do filme.

- Segundo o documentário "Document of the Dead", de Roy Funkes, Romero filmou um final alternativo, nunca exibido, onde Peter e Fran cometem suicídio (ele com um tiro na cabeça, ela ao se jogar nas hélices do helicóptero).

- Na época do lançamento, devido à extrema violência, o filme ganhou uma qualificação "X" da Censura

- qualificação dada apenas a filmes pornográficos. Romero tinha medo que as pessoas fossem ver o filme acreditando que tinha cenas de sexo.

CURIOSIDADES
- Os efeitos especiais no filme eram tão realistas que o diretor Ruggero Deodato teve que provar que era maquiagem e sangue falsos.

- Os animais no filme eram reais, o que resultou o filme ser proibido em vários países.

- Esse filme é um dos dez mais violentos e grosseiros de todos os tempos no Japão.

- O filme causou alguns escândalos na Itália naquele tempo e teve problemas com a censura.

-Havia um boato que os atores realmente morreram, assim o diretor Ruggero Deodato teve que mostrar os atores com ele no set de uma mostra Italiana na tevê a fim de provar que não tinham sido comidos vivos.

- Deodato se inspirou para fazer o filme após ter visto seu filho assistir um violento noticiário na tevê, e pensou sobre como os jornalistas focalizam a violência.

O Inside Hatred começou suas atividades com apenas Kléber Silva (Guitarra) e Rafael "Hatred" Silveira (Vocais). E, para começarem os primeiros ensaios, convidaram Joilson Porto (bateria) e Isaac Porto (baixo). Após alguns ensaios, Isaac Porto sai e dá lugar a Maike Marques. A partir dali, Joilson Porto passa a ser membro efetivo na banda e estabiliza a formação. Após ensaios e fechamentos de idéias, o grupo se prepara para lançar sua primeira demo: “Paradise Of The Blind”, com a qual a banda vem obtendo ótimas críticas na cena Underground. Assim, a banda teve oportunidade de se apresentar com grandes bandas de nível NACIONAL e INTERNACIONAL. Devido à boa aceitação, o Inside Hatred vem colhendo os frutos do trabalho árduo em prol da cena UNDERGROUND, participando de coletâneas de porte, tendo bons reviews em ZINES especializados, e recebendo ótimas críticas de Hellbanger's. Atualmente, a banda vem se preparando para gravar sua segunda demo, intitulada ”World Degenerate Of Sacred's Decadents (Ilusiory Dreamland)”, que contará com 4 faixas - e recomeça o trabalho árduo...
